1. I tend to be pretty chatty and picture happy and was beginning to worry that my friends and family would grow tired of hearing me go on and on about chickens and posting garden pictures and my eggs in their newsfeed.
2. I was starting to receive friend requests and messages on my regular profile from strangers who were interested about my chickens, eggs and garden and/or had seen me in various homesteading forums and groups online.
The Colored Egg Homestead Facebook page grew exponentially within just a short period of time.
Shortly after starting the page I was invited to begin writing monthly articles for a local magazine Carolina Salt about chickens, gardening and my urban farming adventure.
I was thrilled (and slightly terrified...) I've been submitting articles for the past few months and have received great feedback. (I'm actually supposed to be working on next months article right now, shhhhh! Don't tell my publisher!) I wanted to be able to share my articles with my friends and fans and decided a blog was probably the best venue. And then I got all chatty again and started posting about delicious local peaches, and our new incubating egg adventures and here we are. So that is the story about how this little blog came to be.
